Department of Youth Services Ohio Youth Assessment System
The Department of Youth Services is pleased to announce that the training dates for the Ohio Youth Assessment System (OYAS) have been set. The OYAS training is two full days of instruction and practice, which covers all five assessment tools: Diversion, Detention, Disposition, Residential and Reentry. All classes start at 8:30am and end at 5:00pm. Participants must attend both days in their entirety and pass a test in order to be certified to use the OYAS assessment tools. Certification on the OYAS instruments is good for a period of 3 years.
**This training is intended for staff from DYS, Juvenile Courts, and Community Corrections Facilities. Other programs/providers will be considered, if requested, on a case by case basis.
All classes have been approved for 14.5 CEU’s for both Social Workers and Counselors for the training; please note that no partial credit will be given.
