Training Academy

The DYS Training Academy invites our community partners to attend a training session or to host an event in our facility.

Please complete the appropriate request form and email to Mary.Butts@dys.ohio.gov or fax to: 740-881-2104.Once the request is received, approval will be granted based on space availability and agency criteria.

From the North:

  • Take I-71 south to I-270 west.
  • Take I-270 to the Sawmill Road Exit.
  • When you come off the ramp, turn right (north) onto Sawmill Road.
  • Continue on Sawmill Road (becomes Sawmill Parkway) until you reach Home Road.
  • Turn left onto Home Road.
  • After the 4-way stop at Riverside Drive, you will cross a bridge over the Scioto River.
  • At the next stop sign, turn left onto Dublin Road.
  • The Training Academy will be on your right.
 
From the West:
  • Take I-270 north to the Sawmill Road Exit.
  • When you come off the ramp, turn left (north) onto Sawmill Road.
  • Continue on Sawmill Road (becomes Sawmill Parkway) until you reach Home Road.
  • Turn left onto Home Road.
  • After the 4-way stop at Riverside Drive, you will cross a bridge over the Scioto River.
  • At the next stop sign, turn left onto Dublin Road.
  • The Training Academy will be on your right.
 
From the South (Downtown Columbus):
  • Take OH-315 (the freeway will end and turn into a two lane highway).
  • Follow OH-315 to Home Road (approximately 8 miles from where the freeway ends).
  • Turn left onto Home Road.
  • After the 4-way stop at Riverside Drive, you will cross a bridge over the Scioto River.
  • At the next stop sign, turn left onto Dublin Road.
  • The Training Academy will be on your right.
 
From the East:
  • Take I-270 north to the Sawmill Road Exit.
  • When you come off the ramp, turn right (north) onto Sawmill Road.
  • Continue on Sawmill Road (becomes Sawmill Parkway) until you reach Home Road.
  • Turn left onto Home Road.
  • After the 4-way stop at Riverside Drive, you will cross a bridge over the Scioto River.
  • At the next stop sign, turn left onto Dublin Road.
  • The Training Academy will be on your right.
 
Alternate Directions from the North (US-23):
  • Take US-23 south to US-42 (just south of Delaware).
  • Take US-42 west/south to OH-745.
  • Turn left (south) on OH-745.
  • Take OH-745 south past Home Road (4-way stop).
  • The Training Academy will be on your right.
 
Alternate Directions from the Northeast (I-71):
  • Take I-71 south to US-36.
  • Take US-36 west into Delaware where it merges with US-42.
  • Turn left (south) onto US-42 / US-23.
  • Take US-42 / US-23 until US-42 turns to the right.
  • Take US-42 west/south to OH-745.
  • Turn left (south) on OH-745.
  • Take OH-745 south past Home Road (4-way stop).
  • The Training Academy will be on your right.
 
Alternate Directions from the West (I-70):
  • Take I-70 east to US-42.
  • Take US-42 north/east to OH-745.
  • Turn right (south) on OH-745.
  • Take OH-745 south past Home Road (4-way stop).
  • The Training Academy will be on your right.
 
Alternate Directions from the North/West (US-33):
  • Take US-33 southeast to US-42.
  • Take US-42 north/east to OH-745.
  • Turn right (south) on OH-745.
  • Take OH-745 south past Home Road (4-way stop).
  • The Training Academy will be on your right.
