The Scioto Juvenile Correctional Facility (SJCF) is a multi-purpose, coed facility centrally located in Delaware, Ohio. SJCF is the Reception Center and single point of entry for all youth committed to ODYS. It also provides housing to the female population as well as houses some male youth in general population.  In addition, it houses the ODYS 12 bed Central Medical Facility (CMF) which provides convalescent care to eligible juveniles.

SJCF provides an extensive assessment program to all assigned juvenile offenders at the reception center.  The reception process begins through the completion of assessments in the following disciplines: educational, psychological, medical, substance abuse, religious and recreation/leisure while at the reception center. The result of the assessments reflected in the reception assessment summary helps to determine institutional placement and prioritizes treatment service needs.
